Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has made a u-turn regarding its earlier decision to send one East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) party flag bearer to parliament for nomination.

On Monday this week, the main opposition party in Uganda held party Elections where Ekwau Ibi Florence emerged with 20 votes trouncing party’s secretary for mobilization, Ingrid Turinawe.

Yesterday, the party’s Secretary General, Nandala Mafabi changed his mind and decided to send to candidates as party’s flag bearers to parliament for nominations.

According to the letter dated 7 February,2017, Mafabi said FDC is the official opposition in parliament according to the constitution of Uganda Article 82A it clearly spells out the position of ruling party and the opposition party in the multiparty democracy in regard to  numerical strength.

“ I hereby present the two nominated candidates of FDC for EALA for the share of the official opposition as follows,” Mafabi wrote.
