Uganda Police have said that they have received information of a planned demonstration and riot by some disgruntled politicians.
This has been revealed by Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigire.
Owoyesigyire said on Monday that they have all the information pinning some politicians to the planned riot in Kampala.
“It should be noted that it is illegal to plan any gatherings that contravene Ministry of Health guidelines to prevent the spread of Coronavirus,” he said.
“We urge the planners of this activity not to continue with their actions.”
Owoyesigyire however, urged the group to look for other options to air out their grievances as a way of avoiding to face the wrong side of the law.
“They should look for other options to air out their grievances. The police will not desist from arresting anyone who will participate in such illegal activities,” he warned.
