The Coronation Rugby 7s Cup will also double as the fifth circuit of this year’s Roke Sevens and will feature 16 teams (12 Male and four Female).

“Buganda Kingdom emphasizes healthy living and rugby is a sport of healthy bodies and minds. How can we miss out on such an exciting event?” asked Prince David Wasajja, a Uganda Rugby Union trustee during a press conference on Tuesday.  “The Kabaka appreciates the contribution of sports to the Kingdom. Rugby is a sport that teaches the values of integrity, solidarity, discipline and respect and therefore we need to embrace it and support it.”

The all-day event on and off the pitch will feature a variety of foods, drinks and entertainment on the day.

Part of the gate collection proceeds will be donated to a community outreach project within the Buganda Kingdom Community.

Entrance fee is Shs5,000.
