FREDRICK BEINOMUGISHA: Bunyaruguru an NRM stronghold laments with Dissatisfaction, Regrets the loyalty

In a political reward system, political incentives are used to allure and win over opposition targets and which is the current moving trend within the NRM with a great deal of former opposition figures procuring big but such a reward system mainly aims at captivating, charming and retaining party strongholds.

However, this is not the case in Bunyaruguru. Every after all political motivated appointments and once again with the release of the recent list of RDC appointments – Bunyaruguru is baffled and complaining that it is unfair if the 86% NRM support can not amount to not even a single RDC appointment and or any of the other political influenced installations.

Therefore, it must not be taken as though missing on the RDC appointment list is only what pains the people of Bunyaruguru and as though what they are settling for but this political marginalisation has been constant with a simple truth finder showing among all the former leaders who are NRM leaning resorting to private businesses yet still in their prime years of serving.

But where is the problem? The area with unreconciled political leaders of a rickety “one term” syndrome and ever active political camps, inactive elders forum, confused youth and unconcerned religious leaders unity – should the blame still be attached to the lackluster government or it is an internal local problem of a disintegrated and divided organisation?

This brings us to look into who the local people of Bunyaruguru are… while they transfer the blame to the President who seems to have harbored a cultural bias of the people of Bunyaruguru as an obsessed group with the game meat.

And from this, the people of Bunyaruguru have always quoted the old story of a discussion between the President and Rtd. Chief Justice Bart Magunda Katureebe (if it is true) where Mr. Museveni showed his surprise that Bunyaruguru has people of Katureebe’s caliber.. and the people of Bunyaruguru still excuse the political disappointments to the above fact from the story that Museveni still thinks that Bunyaruguru is a unintelligent area.

However, this theory must be debunked Bunyaruguru holds a great brains and it is widely known even if it was to seek refuge in only one Honourable Twarebireho Emmanuel Tungwako Atwoki who bravely stood front and face to advise Mr. Museveni about the amendment that scrapped the term limits and should we assume he is the only politically pertinacious (political rebel) of all the rest that are still and up to now being rewarded.

And a little thing to blame about the people of Bunyaruguru borrowing discredit from their inward character.

The people of Bunyaruguru have always tended to be individualists. The ideology of individualism makes the individual (yourself) the main or the only focus. And from this we shouldn’t assume that no one benefits from the 86 percent support to NRM only that it is not correlated to a community recognisable benefit.

So the people of Bunyaruguru must blame it on themselves for holding this character and a fundamental premise that the human individual is of primary importance in the struggle for liberation and development.

Conclusively therefore, and to draw from the political history of Banyaruguru who were not able to organise into a coordinated organisation but preferred to settle in uncoordinated clans system and until now have not managed to foster strategic unity and reconciliation and form a strong and meaningful community lobbyist effort. This will explain why there’s inactive elders forum, disorganised youth associations and unconcerned religious leaders and while each in the other’s space continue the manipulation and influence with the individual selves held high abive an organised people.

The writer is an indigenous son of Bunyaruguru
