A 25-year-old Woman has been brutally murdered by her husband in Kakumiro district. The deceased is Rosset Kabarod, a resident of Rutooma B village, Rutooma parish in Nkoko sub county.
It is alleged that the deceased woman on Friday night picked a quarrel with her husband identified as Dan Aliyo 27, a resident of the same place over unknown reason.
In the process, Aliyo picked a panga and hacked her severally, killing her on the spot. She was cut on the head, face and chest.The incident happened at around 11p.m.
Nalice Turyakirya, the Rutooma LC2 Chairperson told journalists on Saturday that area residents heard Kabarod screaming for help but when they rushed to see what was happening to her, they found her lying dead in a pool of blood inside her their house. They immediately alerted police who rushed to the crime scene.
Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson says though police rushed to the crime scene, it was late for them to arrest the suspect since he had already fled. They however recovered a panga used in the murder of the woman.
He says police picked the body that was later conveyed to Kakumiro health center IV pending postmortem as the hunt for the suspect is on going.
