Police in Mubende has in custody 23 youth who have been part of the gang that has been terrorizing Mubende town during night.
These were netted on Thursday in an operation carried out by police and other security agencies in places like Katongo Ward, Highway Street, Kirungi and Kapipa in the heart of Mubende Town.
The group which is claimed to be comprised of children from Mubende Rehabilitation Centre has been hijacking people in the night and early morning hours stealing their belongings and breaking into houses.
Mubende Central Police Station Officer in Charge Hassan Ssekalema speaking to journalists said there have been complaints about this gang, but said many charges have been preferred against the suspects and the file is before the Resident State Attorney for scrutiny to have these presented before court.
