An evil stepmother in Buwaate in Kira Division has been arrested for torturing her step son.
Peninah Kukunda, who says works with Africell, was last week arrested for torturing her stepson.
Kukunda had been torturing the child (names withheld because he is a minor), beating and cutting him, until the boy escaped and reached the police station to seek redress.

“I have cried until my heart ached,” said a neighbor who shares a compound with Kukunda who lives with her husband Yonah Musiimenta, who has always been told by neighbours to take the child away before he is killed, in vain.

Watchdog understands that a guard at Kukunda’s home was the first to report child abuse case with Buwaate police who did nothing after her husband Yona influenced the police officers on the station to ignore the complaint. Kukunda however didn’t restrain herself from battering the child until her arrest last Wednesday.
