Ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) members who were appointed coordinators of People Power activities will be easily replaced, the party has said.
On Wednesday, Kyadondo East Legislator Robert Kyagulanyi unveiled a team tasked with mobilisation ahead of the 2021 general election.
The legislator, famously known as Bobi Wine also officially announced his presidential bid in the 2021 elections.
The function, attended by opposition figures in other opposition parties such as FDC, DP, took place at BobiWine’s home in Magere, Wakiso district.
“On behalf of the people of Uganda, I am challenging you [Museveni] to a free and fair election in 2021…We’re ready to kick Museveni and his cronies out power in 2021 and I am very serious about this,” Kyagulanyi said before naming his team which included some NRM members and legislators such as Patrick Nsamba, John Baptist Nambeshe, Susan Ameru, James Acidri, Barnabas Tinkasimire, and Mbwatekamwa Gaffa.
The moved left many asking questions except the party spokesperson Rogers Mulindwa.
“NRM remains strong with or without these MPs. In fact we have already started looking for their replacements. There are equally good people waiting to replace them. We shall not leave any elective position without a candidate of NRM,” Mulindwa said when contacted.
