Musician Moses Ssali popularly known as Bebe Cool has attributed State Minister for ICT and National Guidance Idah Nantaba’s ego as the reason behind the killing of Ronald Sebulime.
Posting on his Facebook page, Bebe Cool advised Nantaba to apologise to the family of the late Ssebulime because she is the one who led to the death of an innocent single father.
“Hon Nantaba pliz whereas one may understand your security concerns,it would be wise you go and apologise to the family of the late Sebulime because your ego led to the killing of an innocent man and a single father,” he said.
The wasibukawa hit singer also urged the minister to sit down with Uganda Police and set up a trust fund for the education and well-being of Ssebulime’s children.
“Your story will make more sense when you show remorse.”
Ssebulime was put out of action last Sunday at Nagojje village, Mukono District by police officers led by Corporal Edward Ssali after being suspected to be an assailant who wanted to gun down Nantaba.
The deceased was first arrested and handcuffed. After a few minutes of pleading for mercy, Ssali allegedly received ‘orders from above’ ordering him to shoot Ssebulime and that’s how his life was ended.
However, on Wednesday Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga told journalists that after undertaking a thorough investigation they found out that Ssebulime was innocent and that errant officers who committed the atrocity are already behind bars waiting to be charged with murder.
Meanwhile, early this week, Nantaba told journalists that she will not offer a single coin to the bereaved family.
“Whenever I hear people making such demands, I just get upset, whoever is telling these people to go on television to claim for compensation are being misled. I have no authority over police ‘s actions,” she said.
