Kyadondo East Member of Parliament Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu alias Bobi Wine on Sunday joined the rest of Ugandans to mourn people who perished in a deadly boat accident during weekend.
The KPalm boat was heading to Mutima beach in Mukono before the incident struck. So far 32 dead bodies have been recovered.
Bobi Wine who is currently in Ghana, revealed that he cannot believe that Uganda lost so many young people on the boat citing that his heart is heavy.
“I lost several personal friends in the accident and it is extremely painful. We continue to pray for the families of all who lost loved ones, and for a quick recovery to those who are nursing injuries,” he noted.
“Last night (Saturday) when we learnt of the tragedy, I requested my team at One Love Beach to dispatch our boats to help out with the rescue mission, and recovery of bodies. We must always be united in grief as we do in times of joy. Kitalo nnyo dala!” Bobi Wine added.
While appearing on NBS TV on Sunday morning, Deputy Army spokesperson Lt. Deo Akiiki revealed that over 100 people were on board. He said though the rescue mission is still ongoing, they don’t expect any more survivors.
