Comedian Omukebete was on Sunday evening declared winner of NBS talent show dubbed ‘The comic’.
Four comedians made it to the finals, screened live from Silver Springs Hotel, Bugolobi, after a a five-months countrywide auditions. A grand prize of a brand new Mini Pajero GDI awaited the winner.
Omukebete proved that he was class above the ordinary. And that is how the judges and voters declared him overall winner defeating Uncle Mark, Maggie ‘the Bwaiserian’ and Smart AyokyaYokya were the other contestants in the top four.
Even though Omukebete took the car home, what left his fans confused was the dummy cheque handed to him by Joe Kigozi, NBS’ Chief of Strategy.
The cheque showed two different amounts of cash won. In words it had ‘Three Million Shillings only’ while the section of ‘figures’ the amount scribbled was Shs1 million.
This left many people confused thus asking which is which?

However, after realizing their mistake, NBS went on their Facebook page to apologize for the confusion created.
They wrote; We apologize for the error on the NBS The Comic winners’ dummycheques. However below are the correct figures that the Winner and first runner up won;
WINNER: Omukebete- Ugx3,000,000
1st Runner Up: Uncle Mark – Ugx2,000,000
