The Operation Wealth creation coordinator Ntungamo district Brigadier John Tumwebaze has warned that he is going to arrest all farmers who harvest premature and poor post harvest handling of crops.
According to Brig Tumwebaze most farmers have a tendency of harvesting premature crops like coffee to get quick money for alcohol and other luxurious life style noting that this vice must stop.
This follows the recent president Museveni’s direct warning on pre mature harvesting of coffee among others crops.
He noted that this vice has resulted into low quality production and failed to attract customers in the World market.
Brig Tumwebaze revealed that they are to start operations in which they will arrest the errant farmers who harvest premature crops and poor post harvesting in the district.
He made remarks on Friday during the production extension officers meeting at Ntungamo district council Hall.
