Police in Kampala has embarked on community security sensitization campaigns.
While meeting residents of Kirangira Zone in Mukono District, Kampala Metropolitan Commander CP. Moses Kafeero Kabugo intervened in the long standing matters of insecurity and land grabbing area.
The meeting was scheduled by village members following the building up rage between the different parties involved in land matters.
He encouraged community paralegals, land mediators and counsellors on land rights to work with police in championing the land rights sensitisation among the vulnerable communities.
CP. Kafeero urged all parties to resort to courts of law than resorting to conflicts and damage.
The KMP Commander ordered for the immediate replacement of the informal groups guarding land in question with police personnel till a time when the matter is handled to a logical conclusion.
He also called upon the community members to work closely with police and local leaders by providing security related information in order to help curb other general crimes.
