Police in Rukungiri District is hunting for assailants said to have shot, injured and robbed money from a business woman.
The Three unknown assailants armed with a riffle, knife and stick attacked Ms Aldrin Nankunda of Kakyeka cell, Northern ward, Western division Rukungiri municipality, Rukungiri District and shot her in the thigh and robbed her of five million Uganda shillings.
It’s alleged that on Monday evening at around 20:30 while from her place of work at Central market, she parked the vehicle and used a small gate to pick the garage key.
On her way back to the vehicle, she met the assailants who shot and forcefully took her to the vehicle and got the money and took off.
The victim was rushed to Nyakibale hospital where she was after referred to Mbarara Hospital while critical condition.
According to the Kigezi region Police spokesperson, Elly Maate, Police visited the scene, one cartridge and the knife were recovered and inquiries underway.
This case has been registered at Rukunguri police station file number CRB 730/2018.
