CONFIRMED: Eid Al-Fitr to be celebrated on Friday

Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC) has confirmed that Eid Al- Fitr will be celebrated tomorrow on Friday.

In a statement by Sheikh Yahaya Ibrahim Kakungulu, the Director of Sharia, the moon was sighted on Thursday and therefore Eid will be celebrated on Friday.

He said the National Eid prayers will be held at the National Mosque in Old Kampala at 9am and they will be led by Mufti Shaban Ramathan Mubajje.

Sheikh Yahaya further urged muslims to celebrate in line with the Islamic teachings, pay zakatul fitr before prayers as well as fast the first six days of shawal.
