The Forum for Democratic Change flag bearer in the coming Rukungiri district woman Member of Parliament seat by election, Betty Bamukwatsa Muzanira has said that she would not hesitate to go back to court if her victory was rigged again on 31st May, 2018.
Muzanira said this on Monday while campaigning in Buhunga Sub County.
“I know I must win, what is remaining now is to lay a strategy of protecting my votes. Your vote counts, watch out!” she said.
“My supporters in 2016 requested me to go to court after their victory was taken away. Court has given us another chance and we should use it well knowing that we shall not go back to court”
Muzanira said that there is a lot of intimidation in the whole district, adding that some of her supporters are already in prison for unknown reasons.
“You’re now the final Judges, you have to vote in big numbers as you have come today, keep at the polling station, count the vote and get representatives who will escort the results to the district until we are declared winners that’s when you will go back home to celebrate,” she said.
Betty Bamukwatsa Muzanira was accompanied by Rukungiri Municipality MP, Rolland Mugume Kaginda, Buhweju MP, Francis Mwijukye and FDCs national secretary for mobilization Ingrid Turinawe among the others.
