In 8 days’ time, ‘The FUFA Drum’ will be welcomed officially with action at Bugembe stadium in Jinja.
The football fraternity will be entertained to an all-Eastern derby between Busoga and Bugisu Provinces on 24th February 2018.
The organisers are not anything for granted ahead of kick off. Training sessions have been conducted for the Match Commissioners, Team Media Officers and the stadium announcers in preparation for the opening weekend action.
On Friday morning at FUFA House, 30 Match Commissioners, 40 Team Media Officers and Stadium Announcers were trained to get all the most important information about the Tournament organized under the theme ‘Celebrating Our Ancestry’.
The FUFA Drum Organising Committee Chairman Rogers Byamukama, FUFA Referees Standing Committee Chairman Ronnie Kalema, CAF Commissioner/FUFA Competitions Director Hajati Aisha Nalule and FUFA Communications Manager Ahmed Hussein took the participants through various areas of refereeing, marketing, branding, role of Media officers and stadium Announcers, Rules and Regulations.
‘It has been a wonderful session. I have learnt a lot. We are looking forward to the kick off next weekend. The course has been very resourceful’ said West Nile’s media officer Toko ‘Ziggy Zagga’ Karim.
Byamukama was excited about the turn up. ‘The turn up shows total enthusiasm from various stakeholders towards the tournament. Culture and ancestry are key components of society. The FUFA Drum will bring all Ugandans together through football’ said Byamukama.
‘We have planned well for the kick-off of the opening weekend. The training session today has given these two groups a lot of information about the tournament’ added Byamukama.
