According to Mutabazi, the process shall be a matter of public record at the commission.

He says, they will conduct a public hearing where MTN Uganda Limited and any member of the public with legitimate interest in the matter will be allowed to substantiate their comments or objection to the application.

“In the interim , any person wishing to make objections , presentations or comments about this application may register and submit their respective objections , presentations or comments to the Executive Director of Uganda Communications Commission not later than 20 December, 2017,” said Mutabazi.

Apparently, a public hearing shall be conducted on 26 February, 2018 at the commission’s conference Hall.

Basing on the laws governing telecom companies in the country, every telecom must renew its license every after 10 years and  MTN  last renewed in 2007.
