DSTV National Independence swimming gala a fitness avenue for CANA competition

Swimmers from various clubs in Uganda are set to show case their talent in the forth coming DSTV national Independence gala as they get set for the CANA competition that is soon to take place in Tanzania.

Young stars as well as brothers and sisters Kirabo Namutebi and Tendo Mukalazi are some of the athletes that shall use this as a platform for the bigger event.

When asked about their expectations for the independence tournament, Kirabo said that she is not looking at this apparently a priority, but as a bridge that can test her fitness for the CANA competition.

“The independence gala is somewhere for me to test my fitness” Said Kirabo

On the other hand, Mukalazi is just ready to sweep medals as usual. When approached, Mukalazi told the watchdog that he is just going to do what he does always.

“Tomorrow I shall just be doing what I always do” said Mukalazi.

The tournament is slated for 7th to 8th of October 2017 at Kampala International School of Uganda .

Swimmers are to compete in categories of 10 years and under ,11 to 12 years,13 to 14 year,15 years and over all girls and boys.

Clubs like Dolphines,Silverfin,go seals as well as many more are expected to compete for slots on the team that is yet to come.

Slated on the 19th to 20th of October 2017,the CANA competition is to be hosted by the Tanzania Swimming Association  and is seen as one of the biggest championships dubbed CANA Zone 111.
