English football player Wayne Rooney has arrived in Tanzania as his team Everton prepares to battle Kenya’s very own Gor Mahia. This is one of the most anticipated matches of the year.

The 31-year-old former star, who recently rejoined Everton from Manchester United, was received by Tanzanian Sports minister Harrison Mwakyembe. The game is the mastermind of SportPesa, which organised the SportPesa Super Cup, a league that saw Gor Mahia qualify to battle Everton.

The game will be held at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, which has a 60,000 seat capacity. Gor arrived in Tanzania on Tuesday ahead of the bout. This will be the first game Rooney plays as an Everton player in 13 years.
