A group of three children in Luwero on Sunday morning discovered a gun in a grazing field.
The children found the weapon in Bukuma village in Luweero Sub County as they were grazing cattles, they immediately took it to police.
Moments after receiving the gun, Richard Walubingo, the Officer in Charge of Kasana Police Station asked the children to take him back where they found the gun, Police conducted a search and found 29 rounds of live ammunition.
Luweero District Police Commander Paul Wataka told reporters that the gun had been tested and found to be in good working condition.
He linked it to a recent armed robbery incidence, although he said investigations are still on-going to uncover individuals behind the incidence.
“We are on the ground, we have some information and there are people we are following up in relation to the same gun,” Wataka said.
