Kampala archbishop Cyprian Kizito Lwanga has condemned the ongoing murders ripping the country apart.
The Catholic prelate said the state apparatus needed to up their game in a bid to protect the lives and property of Ugandans who are now living in fear.
Dr Lwanga hailed Kaweesi a devoted Catholic who was a strong family man. Kaweesi is survived by a widow and about four children. He died at 43 years old after he was gunned down by yet to be known assassins alongside his driver and bodyguard.
Dr Lwanga said it was unacceptable that in less than five months the country has lost five officers in similar attacks.
He noted that on 25 November last year, Major Mohammed Kiggundu and his guard sgt Mukasa were killed in similar fashion as Kaweesi with two other officers.
Dr Lwanga called upon forgiveness in the country to live together as brothers and sisters.
