The requiem mass for the fallen police officer Andrew Felix Kaweesi is taking place at the Rubaga Cathedral.
The service was his last stop in a series of masses said for his soul in Kampala city. He will be taken today to his ancestral home in Kitwekyanjovu in Kyazanga, Lwengo district where he will be laid to rest on Tuesday.
The holy mass was led by Kampala archbishop Dr Cyprian Kizito Lwanga who highlighted the happy nature of the deceased. He remarked that Kaweesi said one of the readings when the pope visited Uganda in 2015.
Dr Lwanga was joined by His Eminence the cardinal Emmanuel Wamala and Bishop of Kiyinda Mityana, Joseph Anthony Zziwa.
Among the dignitaries at Rubaga included Chief Justice Bart Katureebe, former prime minister Amama Mbabazi, Deputy prime minister Moses Ali, among others.
