The ministry of Finance has lost one of the top brains in Isaac David Mpoza. Mpoza who was acting Commissioner Treasury Services Department in Accountant General’s Office under the Ministry of Finance Planning and Economic Development was pronounced dead on Friday.
The sad email circulating at the ministry had many workers shocked at the sad developments.
Mpoza was charged with managing Public Debt and Asset management on top of working as the Project Manager for the Oracle e business suite which handles the integrated management information system (IFMS) through which government pays its workers and suppliers. He has been in charge since 2005.
Previously Mpoza had worked as a Head of Accounts in several Government Ministries and Agencies.
He was a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and a Certified Public Accountant of Uganda.
Mpoza was holder of a Master degree in Project Planning and Development Studies from Bradford University and a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from Makerere University. He was Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT and a member of the Information System Audit and Control Association.
