“Those close to President Uhuru Kenyatta should advise him to stop smoking bhang,” he said.

While hosting Kisii and Nyamira MCAs at State House on Thursday August, 4, President Uhuru said he had forgiven the MCA for the insult.

“I forgive you, let bygones, be bygones”, the president told the MCA.

State House Digital Director Dennis Itumbi also released pictures of the two leaders hugging and shaking hands in a cordial manner.

The MCA was charged in court for insulting the president on April 30, 2014 where he denied the charges and was released on a bond of KSh 50,000.

The charge sheet indicated that the words uttered by Onkwani were calculated to bring into contempt the lawful authority of Kenyatta, who is a public officer, contrary to Section 132 of the Penal Code.

Lawyers Gideon Nyambati and Isaiah Mosota represented the MCA in court.

It is not yet known whether the president being the complainant will have the case dropped or not.
