A few days after his return from South Africa, Pastor Augustine Yiga of Revival Church Kawaala, has been arrested.
Yiga was detained at Wandegeya police station and later taken to Kibuli CID headquarters for further questioning.
The pastor also known as Abizaayo among his followers, is accused of rape and child neglect.
Yiga’s followers protested his detention but that didn’t deter police officers from holding him beyond the time they expected him to join them. This website has not established if Yiga spent a night in police cells or not.
However, Yiga blames rival pastors of planning to destroy him.
This week, this website reported Yiga accusing fellow pastors for propagating his death rumour when he was still in South Africa. Yiga was reportedly ill although he had made efforts to establish a ministry in the Rainbow nation.
After his arrest, his followers have also blamed pastors who compete with Yiga for followers.
