On Friday, September 28, a concerned citizen identified as Bruno Sserunkuma, a resident of Nyakanengo cell, Muhanga town council, went to Muhanga Police Post and reported a case of suicide of one Godfrey Matontori Godfrey aka Habasa Elasto aged 50.
It’s alleged that the deceased was last seen on Thursday, September 27 at around 6pm by locals at Nyakanengo trading centre while drinking alcohol. His motive of committing suicide is unknown.
The deceased committed suicide by hanging himself in avocado tree.
Elly Maate, the Kigezi region Police spokesperson confirmed the news and said that the scene of crime was visited by police and inquiries still at hand.
This case has been registered at muhanga police under file number Sd 06/28/09/2018.
Maate has described the incident as unfortunate.
