Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) has taught people about the new reforms in tax paying which were implicated by the new national budget at hotel Africana today at a breakfast engagement in order to help them understand more about the changes in tax paying.

The national budget for the Financial Year 2017\18 was read out by minister of Finance, Planning and Economic development Matia Kasaija at Selena hotel last week on Friday.

While at the breakfast meeting, URA’s executive director Doris Akol said that the meeting was organized to break down the budget for their customers who didn’t understand it and to let them know the changes in tax paying for this Financial Year2017\18.

“We have organized these engagement meetings with our customers to help them understand the new national budget implications and tax reforms,” Akol said.

Akol added that they organized four engagement breakfasts in four regions; central region in Kampala at hotel Africana Nile hall, Northern region in Gulu at Church Hill Courts hotel, Eastern region in Mbale at Wash and Wills hotel and Western region in Mbarara at Oxford inn, Adit hall.

She further thanked the people for paying taxes regularly and urged to them to continue paying their taxes because last year URA didn’t reach its destined target of the money which was instructed by the government due to some irregularities and delays in paying taxes.
