Nigerian artistes are rubbish, extremely selfish – Winnie Nwagi

Swangz Avenue’s Winnie Nwagi has described Nigerian artistes ‘Rubbish’ because of their attitude towards collaborations with Ugandan singers.

Through her social media platform, Nwagi claims that Ugandan artistes invest in a lot to work on the so called collabos with Nigerian stars, but when the song is done, these ‘wanna be’ artistes leave all the promotion hustles for Ugandan artistes.

“One thing I hate about doing a collabo with Nigerian artistes (especially the big ones), we Ugandan artistes struggle to see ourselves work with these Ma’***kers because we love to expand. But they choose to be selfish, they feel so proud to push on their side, mscheeeeew, rubbish just,” she posted.

The Mataala singer claims that established Nigerian artistes often look down on Ugandan artistes, act all big, require high budgeted songs, but in return Ugandan artistes gain nothing from these songs.

And though some Ugandan artistes brag about having collabos with these international artistes ‘Nigerians’, Nwagi claims that it’s all worth nothing sometimes.

This is evident basing on some collaborations we have seen that include, Ykee Benda with Reekado Banks (Time Table), Vinka and Ketchup (Chips na Ketchup remix), Irene Ntale and Mr Eazi (Post me), David Lutalo and Timaya (Mile). All these where highly budgeted but failed to make any sort of impact.

However Nwagi claims she was lucky that she worked on a song with the most down to earth Nigerian artiste, Slim Prince, who helped so much in promoting their song dubbed Fire dancer.

A few Uganda-Nigeria collaborations have worked out, including Weekend by Sheebah and Runtown, Don’t cry by Goodlyfe and WizKid, Twatoba by Pallaso and Davido.
