ACP Jonathan Baroza, the wanted former aide to Gen Kale Kayihura has finally revealed his hide out.
Baroza who went missing from his duty station at Afripol in Algiers, has told a local website Chimpreports that he is living in Sweden.
The former aide to the Inspector General of Police was summoned to Kampala to explain his role in a number of crimes that went around the country.
Baroza’s name has been mentioned in several publications along side Frank Mwesigwa, the former Kampala Metropolitan commander, Siraje Bakareke, Joel Anguma, Flyign Squad’s Herbert Muhangi and Col Atwooki Ndahura, and Nixson Agasirwe, as having explanations to give concerning murders and extradition of refugees to Rwanda, among other cases. However Baroza who was away in Algiers wasn’t easy to arrest until police summoned him and sent him a ticket. Instead Baroza flew to Instambul in Turkey from where he disappeared as he negotiated asylum in Sweden.
Baroza told Chimpreports that rumours that he was involved in killing former police spokesman Andrew Felix Kaweesi was spread by Sebina Sekitoleko who was once Kale Kayihura’s ally.
Baroza according to reports, ran away as it became clear his employer the Uganda Police was to lock him up like his colleagues as well as former boss Gen Kale Kayihura.
With Baroza living in Sweden, it will become difficult for Uganda to extradite him since the country has some of the strictest asylum policies, which was also home to President Museveni and Amama Mbabazi’s families during the 1981-86 war in Uganda.
Baroza, according to reports, has already linked up with his family.
