The two-weeks training for the 40 Resident District/City Commissioners (RCCs),Deputy RDCs and Assistant RDCs in India has been concluded today at the National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD), Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India.
The training on Entrepreneurship and Promotion of Livelihood Generation Activities, was sponsored by the government of India under the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) programme.
During the valedictory ceremony, the guest of honour, the High Commissioner of Uganda to India, H.E Prof. Joyce Kakuramatsi Kikafunda hailed President Museveni for transforming Uganda into a nation desired by many due to its realistic transformation agenda.
The High Commissioner also reiterated the good and brotherly bilateral relationship that exists between the governments of Uganda and India which have mutually benefited both nations.

She further described the Hon. Prime Minister of India Nahendra Modi and President Museveni of Uganda as visionary, developmental and transformative leadership who have developed their nations.
Prof. Kikafunda also thanked the government of India for the training offer to the RDCs, expressing optimism that the knowledge they have acquired from the training will be put into good use back home to transform communities.
On the other hand, she appealed to Ugandans to mobilise, support and vote for President Museveni in the forthcoming elections so that he protects the gains so far made in the country.

The Director General who is also the Head of International Training at NIESBUD, Dr. Poonam Sinha thanked the participants for being a good class during the training and assured them that the end of the program is the start of their friendship with the institution.
“You are now family and you can always come and visit us,” she said.

The Deputy Head of the RDC Secretariat and Head of the delegation, Sr. Mary Grace Akiror also appreciated the Government of India, people of India, Management and staff of NIESBUD for the hospitality and warm reception accorded to the Ugandan contingent in the past two weeks.
The ceremony was summed up with the awarding of certificates of participation to the RDCs.
