Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) Secretary General Edward Sseganyi died at his home on Monday evening after losing battle to oesophagus cancer.
Sseganyi has been the UPC secretary general in the faction led by Jimmy Akena
According to UPC spokesperson, Michael Osinde, Sseganyi was discharged on Saturday from Mulago Cancer Institute and he went home but unfortunately he couldn’t make it.
“We will surely miss him. He was a man who wanted dialogue during our political disagreements,” Osinde said.
Today there will be a public viewing for the deceased at the party’s headquarters at Uganda House.
Sseganyi has been secretary general for two years.
