Religious leaders under their apex body Born Again Faith have asked president Yoweri Museveni to recall marriage Bill back to parliament.
Dr Joseph Sserwadda presiding apostle of Born Again Faith in Uganda Officiating at Easter Sunday celebrations at Victory Church noted that men have abused marriage institutions yet its the fundation peace and love this season.

“As we celebrate Easter thi year, while certain members of Parliament are pushing for different matters and getting them passed, I also implore our president to consider sanctioning the return to parliament marriage Bill and action should be taken to pass that marriage Bill into law. It has been awhooping 25years of debate. This country should respect the institution of marriage and leave no room for abuses to gloat over its absence,”Sserwadda said.

He as loso called upon government to organise national thanks giving day to celebrate Uganda’s victory in containing covid 19 pandemic.
” considerating that we have not had a covid dealth for the last 12 days ad fact that there only two remaining covid patients In hospitals and that the test posiviity is now only 0.2% even when the economy was fully reopened. We need to organise national thanksgiving event to thank God for saving us from the plaque of covid 19 Uganda is one of the countries that have had the lowest covid deaths in the world. We also need to celebrate, encourage and reward Ugandans who have made outstanding contributions in the battle against covid 19.these persons believe me are great national heroes.

Commenting about DRCongo entry into East African Community, Sserwadda further used Sunday summon to ask government to double Uganda’s agriculture budget so as Ugandans can produce more food for the population.

“Aware that the budgeting process has entered its final phase, I suggest our annual budget for agriculture de doubled to prepare Uganda to be aregional and global food basket, he said.
Sserwadda added that with DRCongo joining East African Community, Uganda stands to benefit more than any other country because it is the only country at the centre of region. This means Uganda can easily position itself to be the commercial capital for the region where each country can easily import merchandise.

“our government should therefore strategically allocate more resources in the national budget towards production of goods for selling in the region especially food production we have more comparative advantage,”
