The National Unity Platform (NUP) leader Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine last week wrote to fellow presidents of different political parties calling them for a meeting to discuss a way forward including how to maximize the different fronts available for the benefit of the struggle against President Yoweri Museveni’s government.

Bobi Wine first congratulated his colleagues for coming out of the recent elections alive despite the numerous challenges encountered.

“The just concluded election was the most violent in the history of our country but you participated with courage and fortitude. Please accept out highest compliments. On behalf of the National Unity Platform, I congratulate you on the successes registered by your party, especially your leaders who were elected to various positions of leadership,” the former presidential candidate told DP’s Norbert Mao, FDC’s Patrick Amuriat Oboi and Alliance for National Transformation’s Gen Mugisha Muntu in separate letters dated 22nd April, 2021.

” As we have agreed in the past, a struggle like ours requires joint efforts by the forces of change. As we embark on a new phase, we would desire to recconect with your leadership and discuss the way forward, including how to maximize the difference fronts available for the benefit of the struggle.”

Bobi Wine therefore proposed a meeting between selected leaders of NUP and those of other political parties.

” If agreeable to you, we are proposing that the meeting takes place in the week beginning 26th April, 2021, preferably in Wednesday 28th April, 2021 or Thursday 29th April, 2021. As and when we agree on the date, our teams can work out other modalities for the meeting.”
