Maj Gen Kasirye Gwanga,a veteran bush war hero has passed on.
The ex-serviceman died on Tuesday morning, On Heroes day, at Nakasero Hospital. He was admitted to the city health facility last month to receive specialized medical treatment.
Unconfirmed reports had revealed that an operation was conducted on one of the veins in his head.
Journalist Steven Dunstan Busuulwa and close friend to Gwanga said a fortnight ago that he had received a call from the latter’s driver informing him about his sickness. The driver said Gwanga was unconscious and had been put in the Intensive Care Unit at Nakasero Hospital.
“He (Gwanga) told his driver to call me and we talk before he got unconscious but my phone was out of reach, at the time,” said Busuulwa.
Gwanga had since remained in the Intensive Care Unit till the time of his death.
