Over the weekend, the Archbishop of Kampala Cyprian Kizito Lwanga made some changes in the top leadership of the Catholic Church at Lubaga.

In the changes, the parish priest of Christ the King Church Kampala, Msgr Gerald Kalumba, replaced Msgr Charles Kasibante as the vicar-general. Msgr Kalumba will as well remain the parish priest of Christ the King Church.

Also reshuffled is Rev Fr Joseph Mukiibi, the national director of Radio Maria. He has been posted to Kansanga Parish as a curate. He will be replaced by Rev Fr Raymond Kalanzi, who is of Philippines origin.

In the same changes, the Archbishop reassigned Fr Anthony Musaala as a curate of Lubaga Cathedral. Fr Musaala will also serve as the Chaplain of Uganda Martyrs University Lubaga.

Rev Fr Dr. Deo Sonko was also reassigned as the head of church projects in Kampala.

Fr. Musaala and Fr Sonko who were suspended in 2013 for preaching a non-conventional doctrine were readmitted to the church in 2017 after reconciling with the mainstream church.

Other changes:

Fr. Achellis Mayanja, will move from Kansanga to Lubaga Cathedral as a parish priest.

Fr. Mpanju will move from Bugonga as a parish priest and be the new Episcopal Vicar for Entebbe.

Fr. Kato Joseph is the new parish priest of Muduuma while Fr. Ignacio Mbaziira has been appointed Curate Kitakyuusa.

Fr. Blaise Zzimbe is the new parish priest of Kansanga while Fr. Ssempagala is the Curate of Kireka. Fr. Ronnie Mubiru is the new Vocations Director and Fr. JB Ssembatya has been appointed Manager of Marianum Press Kisubi.

Fr. Yawe is the Curate of Kitakyuusa while Fr. FX Ssemakula is the new Curate of Masajja.

Rev Fr. Dr. Sserugga is the new Pastoral Coordinator and Rev Fr. JB Kituuma is the Education Secretary.

Fr. Stephen Kigundu is the new Curate for Kisubi.
