Uganda Christian University (UCU) Vice Chancellor Rev. Canon Dr. John Senyonyi has directed all priests to offer this Sunday’s entire offertory from their Churches to the Mukono based University.

UCU is a private church-founded university administered by the Church of Uganda.

In a letter to the priests, Dr Senyonyi said the offertory will help the University to run different activities at the highly anticipated UCU Sunday event scheduled to take place throughout the Province of Church of Uganda, on September 29, 2019.

“Remind the Christians about the commitment resolved by the House of Bishops to offer the entire offertory of your Church on September 29 to UCU so as to run different activities,” the Vice Chancellor said.

He further revealed that the 10 per cent of the collection shall be dedicated to the training of the Clergy and for Clergy children’s scholarship whereas 60 per cent of the regional collections shall be for the regional Programs at the Regional Colleges (Bishop Barham University College, Mbale University College and Arua Campus).

“This year’s portion for the Main Campus will still be dedicated for equipping the UCU School of Medicine (UCUSoM) laboratories,” said Dr Senyonyi.
