One person has drowned in Lake Mutanda Kisoro district, South Western Uganda.
Elly Maate, the Kigezi Police Spokesperson, said Hafashimana Wilber, a 30-year-old resident of Gahinga village, Nyakabande Sub County, Kisoro was a bodaboda rider at Nyakabande stage.
He said the incident happened Sunday on August 25, 2019 and the body was retrieved by fisher men. He added that the deceased’s body was taken to Kisoro hospital for postmortem and after which was handed over to relatives for burial as inquiries underway.
The deceased had gone to swim in the lake but failed to balance on top of water which resulted into drowning. The case is registered at Kisoro police station under SD 06/25/08/2019.
