Kabale district stuck with  40,000 vulnerable children

Kabale district has at least 40,000 vulnerable children according to Monica Muhumuza, the district probation officer.

Most of the vulnerable children suffer neglect.

According to Muhumuza, neglect is either voluntary or substantial and this puts the nature of the country at stake.

She was speaking on Thursday afternoon at Child Africa primary school in Kabale municipality during the child Africa Scandinavian sponsorship day.

Child Africa is a private school that was set up 26 years ago in Kabale by Julie Solberg (Norway) to look after disadvantaged children. The school is funded by sponsors form the Scandinavian countries.

Julie Solberg, Child Africa Managing director speaking at the function thanked all sponsors for bringing children’s dreams into a reality.

Rino Solberg, the chairperson of the Better Globe Partners said they intend o build more school and help more
people every year in Africa.

Better Globe Partners is a group of generous people that has funded Child Africa and other projects in Africa.

Johnson Baguma, the LCV Councilor for Buhara Sub County who represented the district chairperson thanked Child Africa School for educating children, mostly street children.

“We had so many street children who were drug addicts but your plans have changed the situation. Thank you,” Baguma said.

At least Shs 150,000,000 was raised at the function for the construction of the boys’ dormitory.
