Another Cabinet minister warns youth against People Power

State minister for works and transport, Gen Katumba Wamala has warned the youth in Mubende to desist from the ongoing political wave by the famous pressure group of the People Power, which he says lacks a clear ideology to take Uganda to another level.

Gen. Wamala becomes the second minister to warn youth against the political pressure group associated with Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi in less than a month, following an earlier caution by Minister of State for Gender and Culture, Ms Peace Mutuzo, to the people of Budaka.

According to the former police chief, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) has stayed in power for the last 30 years due its clear agenda.

“Uganda has been at peace with steady development programmes because of NRM,” he said on Monday while commissioning a Pressure Group “Vivo NRM Mobilisers Forum-Mubende” which allegedly boasts over 2,000 members.

These members are tasked with mobilising NRM support ahead of 2021 general elections.

The function was held at Kigando Play Grounds in Kigando Sub County Mubende district.

The Youth in Mubende had started staging different groups threatening to join the People Power Movement and the Alliance for National Transformation, saying the party had left them out on engaging them into party activities.
