Rubanda district passes Shs23.46 billion budget

Rubanda District Council on Tuesday passed budget estimates  worth Shs23.4b for the 2019/2020 financial year.

While reading the estimates before the council at Rubanda Rukiiko hall, the Rubanda District Chairperson, Jogo Kenneth Biryabarema said Shs22.2b will be sourced from central government, Shs895m from local revenue and Shs152m from donors.

Biryabarema explained that education and sports will take up a bigger share with Shs11b while health will take Shs3b, administration will take Shs2b and community based services will be allocated Shs1b.

Hill Water

Roads and engineering have been allocated Shs1.5b, production and marketing will take Shs747m, statutory bodies and commissions will take Shs611m, water will take Shs550m and among others.

Biryabarema added that they intend to implement the 2019/2020 financial year budget theme that says ‘Improved service delivery for sustainable development through infrastructure development and wealth creation’.
