Frank Gashumba has criticised government owned New Vision for ‘doctoring’ a photo in order to please President Museveni.

The said photo appeared in the New Vision of Friday, May 17 and President Museveni addressing supporters who were facing the opposite direction.

He was addressing a public rally at Kyatiri Primary School grounds in Pakanyi sub-county, Buruli county in Masindi District on Wednesday as part of his to campaign to support grass-root initiatives aimed at creating jobs and improving incomes for the rural poor.

“Personally, I don’t buy New Vision because I consider it useless with no meaningful content worth my time and monitory contribution!

But just a few minutes ago, as I dined at one of the restaurants in town, they offered me copies of today’s dailies to read and as I went through the pictures of New Vision, some pictorial on page 11 caught my attention,” Gashumba said.

“It’s a truly certified doctored pic! When you look at this picture, it creates an impression that President Museveni pulled a mammoth crowd at Kyatiri Primary school playground, Pakanyi sub-county in Masindi District. But for reasons best known to the newspaper editor, in the images used, the crowd is facing in a different direction, not front, where the President Is supposedly seated!

I therefore want to appeal to the State House staff (PPU) to always be keen and cautious whenever you’re doctoring pictures of mammoth crowds! Some of us went to school at the right time. Kabushenga and the New Vision management owes an apology to New Vision readers.

If you think I am a hater, or just bitter, please buy today’s (May 17, 2019) New Vision and check page 11. It’s no wonder that your sales are dropping day by day. No serious person can buy New Vision!”

The President who is currently on a nation-wide tour to promote governments programmes to create jobs and wealth through sustainable cost effective agro commercial project.

“My message is to mobilise people to wake up and say no to poverty at household level so that it is embraced by everyone. I have come here today to confirm what the youths and others do appreciate my countrywide campaign against poverty eradication at household level in the country. With this spirit and vigor, let’s take off in all aspects of creating a source of income for everyone”, he said.
