Police Flying Squad in Mbarara with the help of a team from Kampala have tracked and cracked down a criminal gang operating in areas of Rwizi and Greater Bushenyi regions.
During the operation in Nyakaizi cell on Friday, the security operatives managed to put out of action a one Mbaine Yonasani,40 and an SMG with two rounds of ammunition was recovered.
His body was taken to Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital mortuary for postmortem.
According to Rwizi Region Spokesperson Samson Kasasira, the operation followed a case file of Sheema of aggravated robbery of Bam petrol station in Kabwohe town on 04/03/2019 where over Shs 24 million was robbed at gun point and the assailant took off on Motorcycle UEB 527V.
“Three suspects connected to the offense were apprehended and they are; Nyonyintono Abbey, Kato Patrick and Odeke Hussein who are on transit to Sheema where the offence was committed,” said Kasasira.
