Col Atwooki Ndahura, the former police director of Crime Intelligence has on Monday been granted bail by the General Court Martial.
Lt General Andrew Gutti granted Ndahura a Shs10 million non cash bail and each of sureties Shs5 million also non cash. The bail conditions also included not leaving Kampala and Wakiso districts unless permitted by court.
Among those who stood for him were Maj General Apollo Kasiita, Col Wilson Kaleeba, Col Francis Kashaka and Ruhinda County MP Donozio Kahonda.
Ndahura who was arrested on June 8, 2018 is facing charges of aiding and abetting the kidnapping by the commission and repatriating Rwandan refugees to Rwanda between 2012 and 2016.
He is jointly charged with the former Police Chief Gen. Kale Kayihura, Herbert Muhangi; the former commandant of Uganda Police’s Flying Squad, former special Operations Unit Commandant Nixon Agasirwe and his former deputies Richard Ndaboine and Patrick Muramira among others.
