JEEMA: Muwanga Kivumbi is a hypocrite, dishonest

Kyamundu noted that the legislator has ever had a meeting with the President but wonders why he attacks them when they follow suit.

Justice Forum (JEEMA) members have told Butambala County Member of Parliament Muwanga Kivumbi that he has no moral authority to lecture them on how to oppose President Yoweri Museveni.

JEEMA’s warning follows Kivumbi’s recent allegations against the opposition political party.

Kivumbi is a DP member.

While appearing on CBS radio’s ‘Kiriza oba gaana’ programme, the legislator claimed that JEEMA is full of pickpockets because they attended The Inter-Party Organisation for Dialogue (IPOD) where Museveni was present.

The IPOD meeting was held on Wednesday at Speke Resort Munyonyo. All political parties with representatives in Parliament were in attendance apart from Forum for Democratic Change (FDC).

In a statement dated December 14, JEEMA’s spokesperson Ssentongo Abdunoor Kyamundu said he understands that all Kivumbi’s insults were driven by the fact that they (JEEMA) agreed to be in a meeting where Museveni was present.

Kyamundu noted that the legislator has ever had a meeting with the President but wonders why he attacks them when they follow suit.

“I kindly request that you apply the humility and exercise high restraint those opposed to opposition members meeting with Mr Museveni exercised when you met him in State House with the committee of defense. We have the record of that meeting,” he said.

The spokesperson further informed Kivumbi to stop being a hypocrite with double standards and learn to respect other people’s decisions even when he disagrees with them.

“As a brother, it would also be a wise idea to stop insulting your own Party President in public as it reflects poorly on you as a person. Morals never hurt anybody,” he urged.

Kyamundu also advised Kivumbi and other critics to resign from all their political positions if they are honestly opposed to everything Museveni is involved in.

“Those who think that talking with Mr Museveni is sacrilegious (especially MPs) and opposed to everything he is involved in should resign their seats in Parliament because it’s a Museveni established and controlled organ, resign from your positions as shadow ministries as they legitimise Museveni as the head of state and his executive as the real cabinet and don’t participate in Museveni organised elections anymore,” he said.

He signed off by thanking FDC leaders for honorably disagreeing with the summit without demonizing others.

“JEEMA respected their right to stay away, for the reasons they put in writing. Of course their overzealous lower cadre have as usual gone overboard in the past few days,” Kyamundu noted.
