The National Resistance Movement (NRM) has come up with strict rules to guide the electoral process of Busia district in the forth coming party primaries of LCV and councilors.

The guidelines were released by the deputy chairperson NRM EC, Kigyagi Arimpa John in a press briefing in Kampala, to update the public about the electoral process.

Some of the rules stated that for avoidance of doubt, aspiring candidates must be Ugandans, at least above 18 years, members of the NRM party, resident of the electoral area, have qualified Ordinary and Advanced level qualifications, not members of the police or armed force of even an employee of the Ugandan government, not a cultural leader as well as paying a non refundable fee of Shs1,000,000 to the NRM Accounts Office.

Arimpa on this note called upon all NRM leaders in Busia district to mobilise NRM members to participate massively in the update and display of voters register exercises that the party electoral commission is conducting.

”The national EC shall display the register for 10 days beginning Monday 5th to Wednesday 14th November,” added Arimpa.

He went ahead to explain that campaigns shall run for 14 days from 9th to 26th November and it will be from here that the district shall go for polls on the 27th of November 2018.
