The return of the Kampala Goat Race was spectacular, colourful, fun filled, fashionable while merry-went-round, at Speke Resort Munyonyo on Saturday.

Sudhir Ruparelia was the man of the moment, as several people sought him for selfies, on top of being the chief host of the event.

The day’s party was hooked on goats competing for honours but it turned out that the ultimate winners were the party lovers who honoured the invitation.

Seven groups of 10 goats competed for honours in a fun filled show, and the party went down at the magnificent Speke Resort Munyonyo on the shores of Lake Victoria, until the last man was willing to return home or book a room at the serene accommodations at the hotel.

This was the proof that the goat race is very much in the hearts of its fans. The race was also spiced up with betting facilities run by Bet Yetu.

Tourism bloggers met at the owners tent. Right to Left; Mr Baluku Geoffrey of Africa Tembelea, Charlotte Beauvoisin Nagawa of the Diary of a Muzungu and Watchdog Uganda’s Mike Ssegawa. Photo by Diary of a Muzungu.

Various tents had their patrons but the ultimate party was at the Owners Tent. By owners tent, the man himself, Sudhir Ruparelia and his family, friends and staff, had eats and drinks flowing freely till people could not drink any way.

Other tents equally had the party going. It was class. Top organisation. Flowers lined up everywhere. Music in the air, depending on which tent and crowd you wanted to belong.

This year’s goat race was organised by Sheena and Rajiv Ruparelia. It was a vote of confidence that Sudhir’s children had come of age… Resurrecting successfully this household event.

Before we called off the evening, Salvado and Malaika introduced Fik Famaika who rocked the evening with his songs such as My Property, Kutama, etc. You couldn’t control the shouts and ululations.

This year’s goat race was sponsored by Tusker Malt Lager, Speke Resort Munyonyo, Sanyu Fm, NTV and Silk events.
