Rubanda high school and Nyaruhanga high school in Rubanda district have been closed after a fight between students of both schools that occurred on Tuesday evening which claimed the life of one student.
According to police preliminary investigations, the fight occurred after a group of Nyaruhanga High School Students invaded Rubanda High School.
They accused, Aggrey Mashemererwa, a senior four student of Rubanda High school of allegedly stealing a bag belonging to one of their colleagues.
The fight left Anselm Niwahereza, 15, a senior two student of Nyaruhanga High school Dead.
According to the Rubanda District Police Commander, Tai Ramadhan, the decision to close both schools was reached by both security and school stakeholders.
The Director of Rubanda High School, Wycliffe Byereeta has refuted claims that his students are behind the killing of Niwahereza, saying that by the time of the incident all of them were at school guarded by police.
The head teacher at Nyaruhanga High School, Robert Katebarirwe, declined to comment on the matter.
