First son Gen Muhoozi Kaneirugaba has according to our sources paid a visit to incarcelated Gen Kale Kayihura in his detention at Makindye military Barracks.

The two generals, who are known to be friends, met last Thursday at Makindye military barracks.

It’s not clear if Gen Muhoozi carried any good news to the former police chief, who has spent more than a month in detention without any charges preferred against him.

The army has been illusive on the matter, not committing itself whether the former igp is a prisoner or not. However news reports last month quoted internal affairs minister Gen Jeje Odong saying that general had cases to answer. However his lawyers of Kampala associated advocates dismissed the reports.

The visit from Gen Muhoozi, the senior presidential adviser on special operations could cast a new light on Gen Kayihura’s detention as the first son could have carried a message from President Museveni. Details to follow.
