On Monday, President Yoweri Museveni appointed new Resident District Commissioners (RDC) and their deputies.
Among the appointed was Mwaka Emmanuel Lutukumoi who made the Lira RDC.
Unfortunately, Lutukumoi was not ready to take up the position thus turning it down.
He said he was unable to take up president Museveni’s offer because he has his own strategic goals to accomplish and besides he no longer stays in Uganda.
“It’s a hard decision to make because the people are calling. I appreciate the good gesture of being chosen by the appointing authority out of millions. Im also not deaf to the people’s demand to go back in a district I served for 4 years! As RDC! It’s a huge votes of confidence; but unfortunately I am no longer in the country and have my personal strategic goals to accomplish. I know I will be ready to serve my country and be a solution to the gaps in its leadership and governance that may exist,” he posted on his Facebook page.
Lutukumoi is an academician who is currently lecturing in one of the universities in the United States of America.
